FAQ – How to choose the right lighting

For smaller control cabinets, compact LED luminaires are recommended, such as ALLIO or Striplite. They take up little space, provide good brightness, and are easy to mount with screws or magnets. For most standard installations, a fixture with IP20 is sufficient.

IP67 is mainly needed when lighting is exposed to dust, moisture, or water, for example in process industries, food production, or outdoor applications. For standard equipment cabinets in dry indoor environments, IP20 is normally fully sufficient.

Yes. Several of our LED fixtures can be connected in series to provide even lighting in larger equipment cabinets or multiple cabinets in a row. Always check the respective product for maximum load and the number of fixtures that can be connected together.

Most LED luminaires can be mounted with screws or magnetic brackets depending on the model. Position the luminaire so that the entire work surface is illuminated and avoid shadows in front of components, terminals, and DIN rails. For larger cabinets, two or more luminaires can provide a more even light distribution.

For installations where the highest possible luminous flux is required, LLX-Series a good choice. It is developed for larger control cabinets and provides powerful lighting with 230 V power supply. For most standard installations, it also offers ALU-LINE very high brightness.

24 VDC is often used in modern control cabinets because it can easily be connected to the control system's auxiliary voltage. 230 VAC is suitable when mains voltage is already available and high brightness is desired. The choice depends on the supply voltage available in the installation.

Yes. Several LED luminaires can be supplied with or supplemented with door sensors, motion sensors, or other control functions. Sensor control improves user-friendliness and reduces energy consumption by only switching on the lighting when it is needed.

LED luminaires typically have a very long lifespan, often up to 50,000 operating hours or more depending on the model and operating environment. The long service life reduces maintenance needs and provides a low total cost of ownership compared to traditional lighting.
